Dharamsala Tourist Guide – Places to Visit Dharamsala Himachal

The "LAHSA in India", Dharamshala is known for its beautiful landscape and stunning scenery and picturesque inspiring. Located between the Shivalik Hills and the Dhauladhars, Dharamshala is surrounded by nature - pine and Deodar forests, sparkling streams tea gardens. A hill resort and a main township of Kangra Valley, has a large Tibetan community, as part of its natives.



Places To Visit In Dharamsala

Kangra Art Museum
A gallery of miniature paintings, because it has a collection of sculptures, pottery and anthropological objects, paintings miniture Kangra school of art. It also has elaborate costumes embroidered Kangra people, woodcarvings and tribal jewelry.

War Memorial

Bhagsunath
11 km from the center of the city of Dharamsala is the ancient temple of Bhagsunath. This temple dedicated to Shiva, was built by the Raja of Kangra in the 16th century. There are many fresh water springs near the temple.

Dharmkot
Dharmkot is just 11 km from Dharamsala. From here you can get a panoramic view very Kangra Valley. Dhauladhar ranges are visible from this location. The attractive scenes of the valley and the natural splendor of the area have made people visit the place time and again.


Norbulinka Institute
Norbulinka, which is only 4 km from Dharamsala, has a Japanese influence. The shady paths, wooden bridges, small streams and water drops smaller than this place is like heaven. It was created to preserve and teach the ancient art of Tibet. A first convent of the institution teaches advance levels of Buddhist philosophy to women.

Chinmaya Tapovan
10 km from the city, is the ashram complex established by Swami Chinmayananda. We choose this lovely place on the banks of Bindu Saras, to build his ashram, which includes an image of nine feet tall Hanuman, a Ram temple, a meditation hall, a school and a health and recreation.
